Well, it's been an eternity since I even looked at this page. Many apologies to those who have visited the site only to find nothing new.
We have been out of Peru for the past six months, visiting family and friends, different churches to give a report on the work in Peru, and having a baby. We left as a family of 3 and have come back with four. Emily Alicia was born on 13th September at home, but that's a whole other story. Lucas is gradually getting used to having a little sister, especially now that she's starting to smile at him. We enjoyed our time away in Canada and Britain. It was a change if not always a rest. It was good for Lucas to spend time with grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles. It was a lot of changing nd moving around for him, but he did pretty well. I won't take the time to go over the past six months, but if you want to know more, send us an email and we'll be glad to get back to you. I'll try to put some pictures up of our time away.
Now we're back in Peru. We're in Lima for a couple of days to do paperwork and head up to Trujillo today. We had a safe trip back and had no problems at customs or with luggage, so we are very thankful to the Lord for that. Lucas isn't sure what to think. When we've gone out for a walk, Lucas thought there were too many cars around, but he seems to like all the horn-honking. It will be interesting to see if he remembers our house and his toys. He's not sure what to think about speaking Spanish. We're working on gracias to start with, especially as people seem to give him things all the time - balloons, chocolates, etc... They all love his red hair. I forgot how much attention small, gringo children get. That will take a bit of getting used to once again. Although I just missed seeing the snow in Canada, it is kind of nice to be back in a warm climate. That's only because it's not really hot yet. It's just nice and comfortable.
Well, I will leave it there for now and will hopefully keep this more up to date, but no promises.
Until next time...
