First of all, huge apologies in the delay of updating my blog. It's been rather busy around here, so will now update you on what's been going on.
Two weeks ago, we had the first full-time Christian workers conference. In the brethern churches, there are 20 full-time workers and 13 were able to come to the conference, some with their families as well. We were very encouraged by the attendance. For some, it was difficult to come because it was during school time, so next time, we hope to have it in the summer months so that hopefully all will be able to attend. The main speakers was Ian Burness from Echoes of Service in the UK. He did talks on Maintaining Vision, Maintaining Holiness and Maintaining Balance, all very relevant topics. We were able to rent a retreat centre just 1/2 a block from the beach. Some even went for an early morning swim! It was a real good time of fellowship, building relationships and a time of rest for those who came.
Lucas also picked up a few Spanish words in the 3 days of the conference. He's also grown about an inch in the last month, making him the same height as some 3 year-olds here. He got a pair of the little leather shoes from a friend that are for ages 2-3 and the fit him perfectly.
Last week, the full time institute module started back up again. There are not as many students this module, but more are coming for the last couple of weeks. The first week, Ian taught on missions. Again this module we are using the church for lodging and food and using another facility for the classes as the school is on at the church, which can be a bit noisy. Rich is teaching a few workshops this week and next and a course on Job the last week of November. Night school is still going strong with about 19 in Rich's class on New Testament background.
Yesterday at church, there were 8 people baptised, 3 of them from the teen-agers group, so we are praising the Lord for them taking this step of obedience.
This week, the mums and tots group are meeting but in the evening for a change for a girly night of chocolate! Should be fun! :)
