The last two Sundays we have been with out electricity for majority of the day. If there's going to be a power cut it tends to be Sunday, but not normally 2 weeks in a row. Yesterday, the power didn't come back until 2 am for 1 hr then back again at almost 5am. Very strange. Lucas liked having candles light and was going around singing 'happy birthday to you' everytime he saw one. We depend on electricity so much, it would be wonderful for our Christian lives if we depended on the Lord as much!
This week-end there was a special movie night on at the church on Friday night and a few dramas on Sunday morning (one of them done by the teenage group), but not a whole lot else extra for Easter. In the grocery stores, there were a lot more fish than normal as the Catholics wouldn't eat meat on Thursday or Friday. This year we didn't make the mistake of going to the beach on the week-end as we did that last year, only to find it absolutely packed!
Last week, I went to Lima for the day to pick up Anna, who is a student from Tilsley College, who will be with us for a month. This week she's helping in the Elliot school in the English classes, which is a huge answer to prayer for the teacher as she had no one to help her. Next week, she'll be helping in the orphanage near by. Lucas wasn't quite sure what to think of her when she first arrived. He stared at her for about 15 minutes and didn't say a thing (which is very unusual for him!) He's warmed up to her and says 'bless you' ever time she hiccups. It will be very interesting to see what Lucas is like when we go to Canada and Britain and meet loads of new people. Looking forward to it.
