Did you know that September was the month of the Bible? I didn't before moving to Peru and there were special activities on at church. This year with the youth group, we traveled back in time to Bible times. We took sheets and things to dress them up. Each of them had to choose their favourite Bible character and explain why they had chosen that one. We finished up 'feeding on the word'. To see photos, click here. On Sunday, there were Bible competitions including Bible knowledge, memory verses, and dramas. The teenage group won the drama competition.
After that eventful week-end, Lucas was down with a fever and a rash. Thankfully he's all better now and was sleeping fantastic, even until 8 some mornings. He's making up for it now by being awake before 6am. I was down for a day with flu-type thing, but after a day in bed, felt much better. We have the privilege of having a doctor in the church who makes house calls, for which we are very thankful.
Yesterday was the big spring celebration. Trujillo is known as the city of eternal spring, so every year there is a big parade to celebrate. We stayed at home and watched it on TV as you get a better view and you don't get robbed. There was even a representative for Canada. I went out for a friend's birthday in the evening and the streets were deserted, including the restaurant where we had arranged to meet.
Rich has started teaching at the night school again which he thoroughly enjoys and was quite excited about. It's great to see him being able to do what he enjoys so much.
Hope all of you in the northern hemisphere are enjoying fall/autumn for me, especially as the leaves change colours, one thing that doesn't happen much here.
